An emergency chute functions as a parachute for an air vehicle, slowing a falling vehicle’s descent. The vehicle falls at a rate of only 60 feet per round and takes no damage upon landing. Deploying an emergency chute is a reaction that can be taken only if the air vehicle is falling. An emergency chute has no effect in a vacuum and can be installed only in an air vehicle. Once used, an undamaged emergency chute can be repacked to use again in a process that takes 10 minutes.
