The kevri are one of two sapient species that call the misty world of Kevlo their home. Kevris are an avian species with taloned hands and feet, hard parrot-like beaks, and large feathered wings on their backs. Kevri's bodies are primarily bald, with feathers usually appearing only on their wings. Each wing possesses around two dozen feathers, ranging from several inches to several feet in length. These feathers naturally interweave into a membrane as they grow, utilizing exceptionally fine fibers to create the necessary updraft for flight.

Kevris are usually frail, but possess sharp eyesight that their ancestors used to detect and flee from the ararak, Kevlo's lethal apex predators. The kevri have worshipped these sacred leviathans as living gods since the dawn of their civilization. In ancient times, the kevri dwelled within the safety of Kevlo's mists alongside the loqan. But after discovering electricity, they began settling higher and higher upon Kevqan's mountains, as the strange mists that cover their home world interfered with most powered technology. Their mastery of technology became so great over the generations that kevris could all but completely tame their world, developing powerful, semi-permeable, planet-wide force fields that kept the technology-disrupting mists beneath their cities in the sky without entirely cutting them off from the logan beneath the barriers. The kevri have also developed specialized beacons capable of repelling or luring the sacred ararak, often used in traditional rites such as offering those defeated in gladiatorial combat as sacrifices to the leviathans.
