Close Contact (Su) Lapiews are extremely cuddly. As a standard action when adjacent to you or a willing ally within 20 feet, your lapiew companion can cuddle up to you, causing you to regain Stamina Points equal to twice the lapiew’s level. |
Glitter Dust (Ex) Once per a day as a standard action, a lapiew can puff itself up very quickly, releasing a cloud of glitter in a 5-foot spread. Each creature in the area must attempt a Will saving throw (DC = 10 + 1-1/2 × the lapiew’s level) or be dazzled for a number of rounds equal to the lapiew’s level divided by 3 (minimum 1). Lapiews are immune to this effect. |
These fuzzy little balls of fluff come in every color of the rainbow. They are happiest in pairs, though they can also be a cheerful companion to someone who takes the time and effort to bond with them. These creatures are bred throughout the Pact Worlds, often in specific, easily marketable color combinations—some of the most popular include purple with green and pink with blue.
Acquiring a lapiew as a companion requires lots of time for proper bonding, and a high tolerance for being victims of their infamous glitter gust. The best way to connect with these creatures is cuddling, playing, and showing them other forms of affection, though they also react well to treats. Lapiews are highly intelligent, a feature which makes them easily trainable for all kinds of work. Lapiews are often utilized as emotional support and service companions, due to their caring nature and healing abilities.
Due to their communal nature and a high reproduction rate, it can be distressingly easy to have a pair of unattended lapiews grow into a glittery infestation.
